Jazz guitarist Vuma Levin was born in South Africa during the unruly years after the end of Apartheid. In his music he questions identity, heritage and culture, combining his own mixed heritage as a son of a Jewish father and a mother from Swaziland. Classical western music, bebop, contemporary jazz and South African music can all be found in his music.
