CHRISTIAN FERLAINO SOLO
Italian-born saxophonist, improviser, composer and ethnomusicologist.

In his saxophone solo, he explores the use of Calabrian folk music grammar in a context of a contemporary improvised solo. This work explores the relationship between fixed and mobile elements; the resulting music is based on the constant repetition and variation of small originating musical materials.

KLARE/DEGENHARDT/PUNKT
Saxophone player and composer Jan Klare lived and played in London before he studied Saxophone in Amsterdam. Since then he’s been active all around in Europe. Jan Klare sees his work a a sociological fieldwork about listening habits and expectations and also the manipulation of them.

Noah Punkt (born 1984 as Tom Zackl) is a bass player and composer based in Leipzig, Germany and Ghent, Belgium. After completing his degree (BA in Majors Music Theory, Sociology, Psychology) he started working as freelancing musician and performer. Since 2013 he’s running the recording and concert project »otherunwise«. Beside his musical work, he’s doing performances with Weichplast (Theatre), Caroline Beach (Dance) and Julia Sophie Kunde (Mixed Media Art) and works frequently at Theater der Jungen Welt Leipzig.

Karl-F. Degenhardt is a german drummer. He plays internationally with artists like Roscoe Mitchell, Gunter Hampel, Gerd Dudek, Markus Lüpertz, Dave Rempis and many more.

Quartet with two musicians from Amsterdam and one Italian and one Brazilian with the goal of improvising and composing on the spot. Thanks to their synergy, an incredible emotional depth is reached. Dynamics and playfulness are a given.
