STADHOUDERS/DELIUS/DE JOODE/GOVAERT
Since a couple of years something great is happening in the Dutch and mainly Amsterdam improvised music scene. A new generation free improvisers with tons of energy has risen. These young ladies and gentlemen organise and play with a dizzying speed and especially with a huge amount of get-up-and-go.
This fresh new quartet brings together two generations of improvisers. Berlin based Tobias Delius, member of the Instant Composer Pool Orchestra and Wilbert de Joode are the heavy weights and Onno Govaert and Jasper Stadhouders belong to the upcoming generation. The great thing in good improvised music: every member listens, reacts, anticipates and initiates in a non-hierarchal way.

Jasper Stadhouders: guitar
Tobias Delius: tenor sax
Wilbert de Joode: double bass
Onno Govaert: drums

UNIVERSAL INDIANS & DAVE REMPIS
The impressive trio Universal Indians is lead by Amsterdam impro hero John Dikeman on tenor saxophone and completed by the resourceful and powerful rhythm section of Norwegian bassist Jon Rune Strøm and drummer Tollef Østvang. The trio presents its own definition of contemporary freely improvised music: muscular, passionate, raw and intense music created on the spot, with no distinct leader and with tight, immediate and supportive interplay. Although informed by formative free jazz artists as pianist Cecil Taylor, saxophonists John Coltrane, Albert Ayler and Peter Brötzmann, they demonstrate clear independent voices.

Tonight they will play with Dave Rempis, a heavy weight from Chicago, who played with all the great free musicians. This saxophonist has a tremendous focus and energy which fits perfectly in the music of the Indians.

John Dikeman: tenor sax
Dave Rempis: alto saxophone
Jon Rune Strøm: double bass
Tollef Østvang: drums
