After playing in Istanbul with the group Islak Köpek, Wolter Wierbos decided to invite some of the musicians to Amsterdam for the dOeK festival, and formed a group also featuring some Amsterdam-based musicians., Amagi combines traditional Turkish music, and improvisation in interesting ways.

Eric Boeren has amassed many playing styles as he developed his sound through the years. Whether it’s free funk, the writings of Ornette Coleman, Caribbean tunes, or anything else he picked up on the way. Boeren describes himself as a team player, so what does a solo performance sound like by a someone who has so many ideas to choose from. You never know.

Michael Moore has a deep understanding of both the American jazz and the Dutch improvised music traditions, but his writing and playing are also influenced by music from other cultures. All these influences aside, his music can move in many directions, always resulting in something original.
