Time to get it on! De Ruimte starts a biweekly Sunday afternoon summer series in Sexyland World. All the ingredients for a festive afternoon are there; a brand new place and a brilliant band. So join us for some great improvised swing with All Ellington.
Duke Ellington – his music is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for musicians of all styles and generations. The same goes for All Ellington, a tentet featuring musicians from the flourishing Amsterdam jazz scene who are ‘excellent melodists and magnificent sound blenders’, according to founding member Eric Boeren. They tackle Ellington arrangements by various band members. Respect for the original goes hand in hand with individuality and inventiveness. The result is rich and catchy music for a nice summery afternoon at the IJ.
