METE ERKER TRIO
Mete Erker is a saxophone player from Holland with a truly authentic style. He is renowned for his rich and warm sound, strong drive, and his very personal and expressive way of playing, at times reminiscent of the great jazz tenors of the ’60′s. Throughout the years Mete Erker  worked with music masters like Peter Erskine, David Liebman, senegalese master drummer Doudou N’Diaye Rose, South African jazz legend Winston Mankunku, and Russian piano virtuoso Simon Nabatov. His discography consists of 50+ albums. Mete Erker just finished his first solo album of his Mete Erker Trio, the main platform with which Erker explores the diverse traditions of jazz music. On this album he will be working in a classic trio setting with: Johan Plomp on double bass, Makki van Engelen on drums and special guest Bart Wirtz on saxophone.
