BEEFERMAN/VAN DER WEIDE/VAN DUYNHOVEN
After an energetic performance on March 10th 2016 at the old location of De Ruimte, these musicians are happy to return for a set on November 17th at the the new location. Gordon Beeferman (NY) is an ecclectic and omnivorous pianist and composer who straddles numerous genres. He has created and performed innovative opera, chamber and orchestra music, avant-jazz and numerous collaborations with choreographers, writers and video artists. Raoul van der Weide is an Amsterdam based idiosyncratic contrabassist and crackle box player using also sounding objects in creating and developing communicative interactions. Martin van Duynhoven is a Dutch Master on drums and percussion par excellence, whose active career spans more than fifty years of creative and explorative labor as a leader and as a sideman notably in the Ab Baars Trio.

MORGAN FREEMAN
Morgan Freeman is an Amsterdam based quartet of improvisers and composers hailing from Lithuania, Germany, and the U.S. As they enter their 3rd year as a band, Morgan Freeman continues to explore the crossing at which abstraction and kitsch intersect. The quartet focuses on the deconstruction of original compositions through improvisation with a healthy dose of playful irreverence for genre-borders.
