A storyteller’s feast to music

Friday March 18, and Saturday March 19, 20:30, entrance and dinner € 20

A storyteller's feast

Storytelling is an ancient art reimagined in every age. In the 21st century this art needs to be reimagined to find its old form in a new world.

Over two nights in March, Simon Hodges will be be joined by master musicians Gijs Anders van Straalen and Dolan Jones to tell a story together. This is improvised music and word play, calling on the old stories to visit new places.

The stories are Celtic, passionate love stories where love is shown to be uncomfortable as it is joyous. While we all long for the sacred marriage, the journey there can take everything we have. These stories Bloedeuedd and Midir tell of the journeys we need to take to recover the love we once had but lost, and how betrayal may be necessary for the finding of truth. Infused with vital themes of feminism, revenge, courtship and eternal beauty, their patterns will seem familiar but strange. Like an old cousin telling you of a former time.

Premiering at the DE RUIMTE’s brilliant new venue, with delicious food from John Pastinaak Bistro & Catering, the night is set for a incredible feast for the senses, providing fuel for the heart in the best of Amsterdam creative company.

Price: €20 for dinner and performance. This is one show repeated over two nights.
Tickets in advance only, a small booking fee is required.
