SANEM KALFA/GEORGE DUMITRIU
Sanem developed her own style by enriching jazz with her colourful personality. Her distinctive interpretations evoke strong emotions, inspired by traditional Turkish music and jazz pieces as well as her own compositions. After playing classical music for years her interest shifted to jazz and she decided to pursue a career in singing. In 2014 she released her first album ‘Nehir’ in the Netherlands with Zennez Records.

George is a Romanian guitarist and violinist residing in Amsterdam. He graduated Bucharest National University of Music and won more than 15 national and international prizes as a classical violinist. As a jazz guitarist he studied in Groningen (granted with the Huygens Scholarship), New York and Conservatory of Amsterdam, researching live electronics. Founding member of the I/O music-theater platform, he experiments with live electronics, composition and improvisation. In 2014 he was invited as a jazz guitar guest teacher at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
