Initiated in 2014, Impro Jam is a challenging monthly jam session, an invitation to meet at the stage to bring unique and adventurous performances, a space for exploring, developing and enjoying free improvisation. Bring your instrument or come to draw, write or dance! Initiated and curated by Ada Rave.

OPENING GROUP: AMAREA
Amarea was born in 2020 when CvA students and long-time music collaborators Chaerin Im, Matteo Mazzù and Eloi Pascual started getting together as a trio driven by their curiosity to explore such a fluid, intimate format. Drummer Eloi Pascual progressively became the leader of the trio as they started to focus mainly on his compositions. Through each one of these pieces Eloi aims to lay down different improvisational contexts that, while still portraying strong identities as songs, offer enough space and freedom to interpret and explore. While still coming from a jazz tradition, the conveyed musical interests and influences range from classical music (Ravel, Messiaen, Debussy…) to contemporary composers such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Paul Motian, RJ Miller, Thom Yorke, Tom Jobim, Charlie Haden…
