Let the piano speak and find out what it has to say. It is this approach to playing the piano that formed the starting point for the compositions Oscar Jan Hoogland wrote especially for LOOT. With Ab Baars, Uldis Vitols and Onno Govaert, Hoogland has brought together the perfect musicians to play this new music. These men stand strong in their own counterpoint, let their instruments’ voices speak, are true masters of heterophonic swing and, most importantly, they are incredible improvisers.

REBOLADA
Pianist Adrián Moncada and singer Irene Sorozábal present a musical reflection on their cultural roots. Rebolada is a deconstruction of traditional Spanish cultural influences through a contemporary prism. Sounds and echoes of folkloric dances are intertwined with jazz harmonies and the surprising quality of free improvisation.Rebolada is the name of the first morning performance in a Castilian festivity.This project is in itself a sort of awakening; the rise of a forgotten folklore that leads the way into a personal and contemporary folklore. Adrián Moncada and Irene Sorozábal started working together as a duo during the pandemic in 2021. Since then, they have performed in the Netherlands in venues like Splendor, Goethe Institut and Huis de Pinto among others; and in Spain in several venues.

ELLA ZIRINA
Ella Zirina (1997) is a jazz guitarist and composer from Latvia, with a passion for the different textures and timbres of her instrument. Her compositions are built out of melodic improvisations, resulting in a personal and emotional sonic environment.Ella has played in Jong Metropole and NJJO and has worked and performed with talented musicians as Tineke Postma, Ben van Gelder, Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, Sun-Mi Hong and others.
