Charles Gayle
Living legend Charles Gayle is a icon of free jazz. Inspired by the likes of Charlie Parker and Albert Ayler, the tenor/alt saxophone, piano and bass player is known for his deeply spiritual, totally free music full of huge intervallic leaps and screaming multiphonics. After living as a homeless by his own choice for around 15 years, busking on the street, he became a household name in legendary jazz club The Knitting Factory and found worldwide fame in the 1990s. He has performed and recorded with musicians like Cecil Taylor, William Parker and Rashied Ali.

BTW On Monday 17 October Charles Gayle will give a workshop!
