Improvisers Ferlaino and Sued interact and interreact with rhythm section Mizrahi and Renfrow to create compositions characterized by multi-thematic contrapuntal melodies. Decidedly unclassifiable, with an unabashed, somewhat folkloric humor, New Dog manages to reminisce and stay true to many facets of the jazz tradition.
