Machtelincks/Badenhorst/Jensson/Wouters

MACHTELINCKX/BADENHORST/JENSSON/WOUTERS

This quartet brings a unique and filmic jazz sound. Their 2012 debut ‘Faerge’ was widely seen as the best jazz release in Belgium that year. Less than two years later, their highly anticipated record ‘Flock’ lived up to all expectations, and saw the quartet exploring the sound from their first album. Multi layered and pure at the same time, this music is highly addictive, so beware.

Ruben Machtelinckx – Guitar, Baritone Guitar, Banjo and Compositions
Hilmar Jensson – Guitar
Joachim Badenhorst – Sax, Clarinets
Nathan Wouters – Bass

HRH

HRH

HRH is a trio consisting of Australian percussionist Samuel Hall, Polish clarinetist Mateusz Rybicki and Belgian bass player Lennart Heyndels. Stemming from the vibrant Berlin impro scene, these three musicians quickly recognized in each other a self-evident mutual understanding and a deep kinship of musical direction. After playing together on a few informal occasions they quickly started performing regularly in and around Berlin. They handle a non-idiomatic approach allowing influences from many different musics to seemingly melt together. Rather than working within a confinement of styles, HRH chooses to operate within a consistency of spirit.

Mateusz Rybicki – Clarinet
Samuel Hall – Drums & percussion
Lennart Heyndels – Double bass
