JACOB MASKELL-KEY / RAPHAEL VANOLI
Guitarist / bassist Raphael Vanoli and multi-disciplined musician Jacob Maskell-Key have been experimenting together over the past year on their respective geeky hybrid electronic setups, the outcome is a warbled mess of dissonant joy. With an album on the way, this will be their first ever live show as a duo!

NOVELO VAGO
Novelo Vago is a contemporary music garage band: they write their own pieces, they barely rehearse them, and the main reason why they’re still playing together is because they’ve been friends for more than 10 years. The band makes music with toy instruments, small percussion instruments, instruments that officially don’t fall into the category of toys but definitely are toys (like the piccolo), and sex toys.

Novelo Vago made its Amsterdam debut at the epic condom shop Condomerie in January 2023; and in May 2023 released “Live in Porto – a protest in the form of an album”.

Vera Morais – voice, toy instruments | Teresa Costa – flute, piccolo, toy instruments | Inês Lopes – toy piano, melodica, toy instruments

PONGA
sounds like anything is possible. Rooted in free improvisation, our music is a fusion of compositional form, infectious grooves, and uniquely crafted melodies. Through experimentation and free play, each member seamlessly transitions between percussive, melodic, and harmonic roles, resulting in an eclectic performance that embraces a multitude of musical styles—from soundscapes to rock, jazz to classical, and beyond. Clad in costumes that mirror the diversity of our sound, we juggle not only instruments but also identities, creating a visual spectacle that mirrors our commitment to progressive change.

Formed by violist Yanna Pelser and former Kapok members Timon Koomen (guitars) and Remco Menting (drums/percussion), PONGA serves as a platform for each member to channel their rich musical backgrounds spanning jazz, classical, and free improvisation. With over 15 years of experience performing in the Dutch and international jazz and classical scenes, our collective expertise is enhanced by a shared immersion in theatre, shaping our unique stage presence and penchant for costume changes.
